About Pawbour

Calgary, AB · Founded 2026

Pawbour started with a simple observation: Calgary is full of people who would happily look after a neighbour's dog for an afternoon — if only there was a fair way to ask.

Rover is great if you want a professional. But most of us don't need a professional. We need the retired couple down the street who already know our dog's name, or the neighbour who mentioned they work from home and would love the company.

The problem is that asking for a favour — especially repeatedly — creates social awkwardness. "I can't ask Sarah again, she's already done it twice this month." Pawbour solves this with community Paws: a simple, non-monetary way to make pet care feel like the reciprocal community act it already is.

Help a neighbour with their cat, earn a Paw. Use that Paw when your dog needs a walk. The obligation is to the community, not to one specific person — and that changes everything about how it feels to ask.

Our communities

Pawbour is active across Calgary neighbourhoods and nearby Wheatland County towns. Wherever you live in southern Alberta, there's probably a pet-loving neighbour a few doors down.

Our principles

  • 🐾Neighbours first — every interaction stays within your Calgary neighbourhood.
  • 🐾No cash changes hands — Paws keep it community-minded, not transactional.
  • 🐾Privacy by default — PIPEDA-compliant, data stays in Canada, no ad tracking.
  • 🐾Trust is earned — profiles, reviews, and escrow protect both sides.

Pawbour is currently in early beta — Calgary only.
